It's called Glam.com. Check it. Though not many people are visiting Totally Tracey, I felt I should share this with you, in the spirit of full disclosure. So there you have it.

That said, I've spent the past 5 days at my first Fashion Week in New York. I've been lucky enough to attend a bunch of shows and interview some fun celebs. We're actually keeping a VERY cool blog about the shows on Glam.com. It contains video from the shows, celebrity interviews (some are video!) and fun gossip from the Fashion Week tents. If you some time, browse through it. Here's the link

If you don't want to browse, here are some highlights:

- Interview with Carmen Electra
- Sienna Miller Photos
- Video Q&A with Phillip Lim, designer
- Video From the Oscar de la Renta show (amazing!)

That's all for now...

And I miss getting comments from you all! I LOVE them. They seem a year late and kind of a rip off of the Louboutin wedge espadrille, but they're still different enough to merit a second look (and possibly a purchase.) I actually bought the steve madden rip-offs of the louboutin wedges last summer and love them (though they only saw the light of day ONE time), but these seem cuter to me. I LOVE the strap as opposed to the tie around the ankle last season's pairs seem to favor. And the heel. Oh, the heel!!!!

I love them. And had to share.

These Boots Were Made for Walking ...

So, here's the deal. I just bought some Prada boots and I love them. They're knee-high, black suede, with a wedge heel and DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS. I love them with my whole heart. I'd wear these suckers to my wedding if I could. I've searched high and low for a picture but I just cannot find one. But they're the softest, most beautiful pair of boots ever.

I'm sharing this with you because it's been one of those experiences where you buy something and think about it for like 2 weeks afterward ... wondering, did I spend too much? Should I really have gotten them? Do they look as good as the sales guy swears they did? (the guy was such a tool.) But most of all, it's one of those purchases where you love them so much and you look at them everyday and think, TODAY IS THE DAY I'M GOING TO WEAR THESE. But You don't. Cause you're scared of ruining them. Do you know what I'm talking about? Does this happen to you? Each time I buy a new bag, I have to talk myself into carrying it the first few times. Otherwise I'd just end up loving it in the box it came in.

Anyway, I'm hoping to break that pattern with these boots. They're gorgeous, they're perfect for New York and I'm going to wear them! A LOT! You heard me say it here!

But I think I'll wait until next week ... :)

UPDATE: Vuitton Rings

So, in a very fun twist, my mom got me one of the Louis Vuitton rings I blogged about for Christmas. It was SO FUN of her and I love that she read my blog. That's the fun news. The unfin news is, it was ridiculously large on my finger. I tried it on and pretended I was in a meeting pointing at something and everyone in my family agreed that it was just too darn big. She actually wanted to get me the black one but it was sold out completely across the US. After searching high and low, there was ONE store in Missori that still had some. She ordered the clear one but pink was sent. She alerted them to the mistake and they sent a clear one too so I was actually able to see and try on both colors. They really are GORGEOUS in person and the detail inside the ring is so neat. But we all agreed that black would have been a different story and it just looked silly on my hand.

But, how cool that my mom even got it?

Still Lovin' Louis

So, how cute are these rings?!? I was flipping through Instyle on the plane and got to their gift guide which featured these two gorgeous and totally fun rings by Louis Vuitton. Love the little trinkets and love the colors (tt's also available in clear.) But seriously, the best part? They're only $180. What!?! Isn't that a bit much for a resin ring that I honestly could buy for like $10 at my little neighborhood boutique? Well, yes, actually it is. But you must look at if from another point of view. You're buying (or receiving - just give the hubby a hint) a designer piece of jewelry. Personally, I think they are so cute and the little LV in gold makes my heart flutter!

Have a happy thanksgiving everyone!

Football, Girl Style

So, pretty much during football season guys become unresponsive. (This is not actually true in my own relationship but for the sake of this post, I'm playing along with the stereotype). And I know lots of girls who, to spend some time with their man, sit and watch games on sunday too. I also know a lot of girls who pick who they root for based on the colors of the uniforms. So in honor of the football season, I'm going to select some of my favorite uniforms in the NFL.

Houston Texans: I love the colors, I love the simplicity. Apparently these guys suck, but at least they look good doing it!

Washington Redskins: Because I am from DC and it would be weird to exclude them. Turns out they suck too this year. (Their maroon uniforms are actually cooler but I'm over looking for football photos at this point)

Dallas Cowboys: As a Redskins fan, you're raised to loathe the cowboys, and deep down I do. But I do like their colors!

Atlanta Falcons: I love the colors here too - black, red, and white. Plus, the quarterback went to Va Tech, my boyfriend's alma mater, so I hear about him all the time. Apparently Michael Vick is REALLY good. But, hot damn, I might this year. Looking through the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book (yes the same catalog I found the black dress I thought about wearing to my wedding until I was talked out of it by fashion-friendly and concerned friends), I found the bag I must have this winter season. Just look at this masterpiece of patent leather and gold hardware! Look at this drop-dead gorgeous bag that literally screams, "Carry me!" I mean seriously, when you squint your eyes and look at this photo, doesn't that kinda look like me holding the bag? And don't I look hot?

To the Paddington, I say, you're so last year. (Sorry, my ex love.) And instead, I turn to Fendi. You might cost $1730 but I've heard something about future spouses giving each other gifts on the day of the wedding. Think Nick might be into that?

(blogger's note: he definitely would not be and might actually break up with me if he even sees I wrote that down thus meaning it was a thought that actually entered my head.)

Who said wedding dresses have to be white?

So, the fact of the matter is, I love this dress. LOVE it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. So, keeping in mind that this is my SECOND marriage and the wedding is small and cute and fun and only 15 people and in napa, don't you think I could totally get away with wearing this? I mean, there's white underneath.... PLUS, for the big party in Virginia, I could wear it again! It's a total win-win. It seems to me that the small country across the pond that fancies high tea and old queens is producing a large portion of the world's most beautiful women. And I love them all. You might be thinking I just dig the accent, and you're right. I do. But these lovely ladies ALSO have rockin' figures and great hair. They are the total package and truthfully, American counterparts (think cameron diaz and sandra bullock) sometimes just don't hold water to them.

Here are some of my faves:

1) Kate Beckinsale
SHE IS STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS. Period. Her hair, her smile, her cute little body. I LOVE her. Have you seen Serendiptiy? If not, rent it tonight. She's adorable in it and who doesn't love a quick john cusack fix?

2) Victoria Beckham
I think I like just watching her more than really admiring her fashion sense or beauty. That said, I could look at photos of her forever. Her hair evolution, her 'i'm-making-love-to-the-camera' scowl she gives the paparazzi and her so-hot-I-could-die husband make it difficult to break my stare.

3) Kate Moss
She's the only person in the history of life to have a life-size photo doing cocaine published across the globe and to walk away with MORE endorsement deals than before she got busted. My favorite part of all? She never said a word to the press. Not one. But primarily I dig her cause she's hot. Though her taste in men, specifically pete doherty, is suspect.

4) Elizabeth Hurley
Okay, so she's getting a little older. I get it. But I'm sorry, this woman is crazy hot. And she stared in the original Austin Powers AND the guilty pleasure must-see Bedazzled. And she rocks her boobs like no other and any woman who does that wearing designer duds without shame is a favorite of mine.

***It should be noted that my top 4 babes from britian are all brunettes which brings me to my own neverending debate. Nick and I went camping in Big Sur it was the greatest weekend of my life! As everyone knows, we love to camp. What everyone may not know is that one of the reasons we love it so much is beer-can chicken. I'm not even lying. We seriously love the preperation, cooking, and especially the eating of this meal. We have every time we go camping. It is delicious, includes fun cajun seasonings, and we love it. (Clearly.)

At the conclusion of our fabulous beer-can chicken meal on Friday night, Nick asked me to pass the extra seasoning behind the paper towels. As I turned, he said, "oops! I dropped my fork!" and when I moved the paper towels, there was a beautiful box and when I turned to nick, he was on one knee. It was a beautiful, perfectly-timed proposal in the middle of one of the things we love most. Eating! (And camping!)

Over the course of the weekend, at other really fun or romantic times, he asked me to marry him again. On the beautiful beach, while listening to our song as the sun set, and as we shut our eyes before falling asleep sunday night. It was just so sweet, so fun and so perfect.

Oh, and for breakfast and dinner the following day, we used cajun seasonings again on our food so on the drive home yesterday, we named the weekend the Ragin' Cajun Engagin' Weekend and neither of us can stop saying it which I think is really funny.

And finally, the ring. As I've told him several hundred times, he didn't hit a home run-- he hit a grand slam! The ring is SOO STUNNING AND BEAUTIFUL. I love how unique yet classic it is. And most of all, I love that he designed it. He's a keeper.

I heart oscar

So, here's the deal. I work at an online magazine with a high focus on fashion (and celebrities). And twice a year we cover New York Fashion Week which is seven full days of fashion shows from 8am until 9pm. The designers are currently unveiling their Spring 2007 collections and it's been pretty interesting and fun. Since we're covering the NY from SF, it's late hours, lots of really bad junk food, but most of all, it's a lot of great fashion. So far, my favorite show has been oscar de le renta. I loved almost every single piece that floated down the runway. Here are three of my favorites:

One of the shows I was really looking forward to was Nanette Lepore (sorry nicole!) Her two previous collections were so pretty - the perfect mix of flirty meets feminine. And while her clothes are expensive, they aren't carolina herrera expensive, and could maybe, just maybe be in my price range on occasion. Anyway, her show was today and it just wasn't very good. I was so disappointed! Instead of pretty, it was punk-rock-y. It reeked of the early '80s and I'm sorry, but I just can't rock that shiznit. That said, there were a few cute looks and I've included them below (I like Nanette too much to include the bad ones, even though in all my days of headline writing, I know that people care more about the worst-dressed than the best-dressed. But oh well, it's my blog.):

See the difference in caliber between those two? It's shocking. Anyway, I'm off to discuss Narciso Rodriguez's show. Stayed tuned ... I'll have another Fashion Week update later in a few days!

I mean, just look at this shoe.

So, it's no secret I love Gucci, but MY GOD. So much so, that I felt I had to share it will all of you. I love her dress, belt, and shoes - she looks super cute.

Footnote: How crazy hot is Ryan Philippe? Apparently when she wore it, EVERYONE would stop and compliment her. Guys would salivate, women would pine for it, you know, the whole nine. She finally brought it into work one day and she was right -- it is one of the best-smelling things in the world. It's some tiny company, Ebba Los Angeles, and they have this 'Miss' collection. Miss Belle, Miss Alex -- but the best one, the one I purchased yesterday online and am counting down the minutes until it arrives, is Miss Marisa.

I know what you all are thinking. That I only like this scent because in an interview on Glam.com, Carmen Electra named it as her favorite scent. And because I love Carmen, I would automatically like this perfume. Well, that's not a bad call -- but I do seriously love this fragrance.

Once I get it, I'll wear it exclusively until it's gone. (Sorry Vera and Stella, your time has come and gone.) But this does bring me to my next point. This perfume is sold in .05 oz bottles of oil ($60 bucks a pop). That's reeeeeeal tiny. I'll let you know how long it lasts.

Also, hope Nick likes it!

Catherine Zeta-Jones

So, here's the deal Catherine. You're stunningly beautiful. Your accent is hot and your body is the envy of many (including other hollywood celebrities I'm sure.) You choose mostly good movies to star in and your Saturday Night Live visit was actually funny.

So, why on earth, did you marry Michael Douglas?

I realize that's not totally fair. I love Michael Douglas, I really do. I think he was awesome in American President (a movie i adored) and really funny in Jewel of the Nile and Romancing the Stone. He is Hollywood royalty so I get the attraction. But he's just so old. Actually, I retract that -- at age 62, he's not that old -- he's just too old for you. And is it me or has he stopped looking in the mirror before he leaves the house? He's looking a bit disheveled lately.

Either way, you two seem happy which is ultimately the goal. Your marriage has lasted 6 full years - that's gotta be one of the longest marriages in Hollywood history!

The glory that is fountain soda

So, I'm totally addicted to soda. It's my favorite thing in the whole world and I can't get enough of it. I drink it all day and all night and never ever get sick of it. But the very best is fountain soda. Even more specifically, Cherry Coke fountain soda. Man, it's delicious.

As you're all aware, I'm on this stupid Jenny Craig deal which obviously doesn't include cherry coke fountain sodas on the menu. What it does include, though, is diet soda. I can have as much diet soda as I want. (The consultant said that approximately 367 times.) And believe me, I do! I drink diet sunkist, diet 7-Up, diet pepsi, diet coke, diet dr. pepper ... BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME. While I don't full out HATE diet soda, I must admit, I don't really like it. The aftertaste is horrendous and joy that I get from regular soda is just not found in these sugar-free cans of grossness.

For as long as I can remember, I've been told that I would lose so much weight if I just knocked out the soda from my diet. Apparently, it's the devil. I've heard it's bad for your teeth and can make rust literally disintegrate. ("Just think what it's doing to your stomach!" say all the haters.) And, do you remember Sammy from Days of Our Lives? I think she's still on the show actually. Anyway, as we all know, she was a bit heavier back in the day. (Which during college, when everyone is a bit heavier, was weirdly reassuring.) But then all of a sudden she lost a bunch of weight and now she's small. (Small, with a big head, but still, she's small). ANYWAY, , I came across an article with her and she credits her weight loss to increased exercise and ELIMINATING SODA FROM HER LIFE. She too was addicted but she beat it. And now she's small.

Sammy was always really annoying, wasn't she?

I can't wait I'm off Jenny Craig and have a cherry coke fountain soda. I'm so OVER this diet pepsi.

Jennifer Aniston vs. Gisele Bundchen

So, I'm a pretty big fan of Jennifer Aniston. This isn't news to anyone who knows me (I mean, I still wear my hair like she did on the 7th season of Friends.) I think she is classy, beautiful, and very good at delivering funny lines. And I also like her facial expressions. She dominates.

Anyway, a few years ago, she wore a gorgeous Chanel gown to the Emmys and was absolutely stunning. Her golden hair flowed, her smile was bright, and she rocked that gown like no other.

Then, several months later, Gisele Bundchen accompanied Leo Dicaprio to the Academy Awards and wore a Christian Dior gown very similar to Aniston's Emmy masterpiece. Both have been praised for these dresses--each making the best-dressed list at her respective event.

However, a friend of mine (who will remain nameless so people don't barrage her email box with hate mail) emphatically stated Gisele's dress was better. I've included pictures of both so you can decide. (although it seems pretty friggin' obvious to me!)

The fight is on: Jennifer vs. Gisele.

cause I'm deeper than just material things.

So, I thought I'd blog about something UNmaterialistic today to show the readers of this blog (all two of you) that I'm about more than just designer bags and shoes.

I am on day 4 of Jenny Craig. For those of you reading this and don't know me, don't jump to any conclusions. I'm not super huge - I'm just trying to drop the extra 15 lbs. I put on during my cross-country move about 8 months ago. Even though Nick looks at me lovingly and tells me I look exactly the same as the day we started dating (cough bullsh*t!), my clothes are telling me something else entirely. So blah, blah, blah, I'm doing Jenny Craig.

And while the food isn't terrible and includes some carbs (which already helps it score higher than Atkins, the diet of the devil) I'm not TOTALLY feeling it. The portions are tiny. TEENY TINY. And while I've always been known not to eat big portions, even to me these seem small. At my first consultation, I asked about eating out and how drinking affects the diet. I was told I could have one glass of wine or beer every so often. But if I did, I'd have to run an extra 20-30 minutes the day before, the day of, and the day after the alcohol entered my body. First of all, 20-30 EXTRA minutes? How much did she think I was already running? And THREE DAYS of extra exercise for ONE glass of alcohol? Something seems wrong here.

This Wednesday will be the end of week 1 and also when I'll have my first weigh in. (Sounds fun, huh?) After the weigh in, there is a 20 minute 'consultation' with a 'consultant' where you talk about how the week went, etc. I think I might accidentally forget to tell her about the two pitchers of beer Nick and I had last night while bowling. (Oops!)

Anyway, for those of you not dieting, enjoy your freedom. I'm getting ready to go to the movies and skipping the popcorn is already causing me to shake. Hopefully a diet coke and Jenny Craig mini toffee bites will be a sufficient substitute.

Christian Louboutin

So, the truth of the matter is I'm 5'2". Most people are surprised to hear that since I'm never, ever caught wearing shoes under 4 inches tall. I've always loved high heels and and am so delighted that wedges and platforms are all over the fashion runways and in stores. When I first started at this new job, I was introduced to the red-soled genius of Christian Louboutin. I'd admired his work for years but had no idea who was creating the shoes I was lusting after in my Us Weekly magazines. So, for those who don't know, his stuff ranges from $500-$1500 a pair. Occasionally, you can find a pair for less and sometimes his previous season goes on sale for less as well. (Note: he has a wild side and some of the shoes for sale are really crazy and loud and not-tracey style.)

Since I'm currently not a movie star, pop star or big-time novelist, I'm unable to pay $500-$1500 per pair of shoes. So instead, I've been buying the knock-offs that steve by steve madden have been doing. They are hot but after all my years of publicly asking everyone I know, "honestly, how can anyone carry a fake bag? Who do they think they're kidding?" I feel somewhat like a hypercrite. (Though it should be noted, the pairs I buy do NOT have red on the sole that some knockoffs have to REALLY try and fool people.) I bought three pairs - each at $150 - and I've worn two of the pairs once and the other pair never. Turns out, the steve maddens aren't all that comfy. So I have three pairs of shoes that are really hot, but are super uncomfortable and are not the real pairs of shoes wanted!

What have we learned? Well, I wish I had just gotten one pair of the louboutins instead of spending $450 on three pairs of knock-offs I'll never wear. I'm starting to see some of his fall line and they're looking pretty hot too. There's this one very-high, black suede knee-high boot that I've got my eye on. Maybe I'll splurge on those....

Who doesn't love the name Michael?

So, since I work on a fashion website, I'm constantly forced to browse lots and lots of designer clothing. And every so often, something makes me stop dead in my tracks. In this case, it's the most beautiful dress I've ever seen. It's by Michael Kors and it's perfect. I've been admiring it from afar on Netaporter.com for what feels like 5 years though it's only been about 6 months. I've watched the price drop from $1,880 to $846. I've spent full 5-minute periods just staring at it and imagining places I could wear it (if only I'd had it for the MTV Awards!) And in my weakest moments, I've gathered co-workers to talk me OUT of actually spending nine hundred dollars on a dress that a) isn't a wedding dress and b) hasn't even been tried on and c) COSTS $900!!!

Anyway, I've put it into my shopping bag on Net a Porter, hoping that one day I'll check on it and they'll have marked it down to $200 or $300. I realize it's a pipe dream, that michael kors would probably step in front of a speeding bus before selling his stuff for less than $500, but a girl can hope, right?

I think the reason the pull is so strong is because the dress has actually spoken to me. The first time I came upon it, it whispered, "Hey there, ace. Listen, I know you don't normally tread in the $1,880 dress arena, but I was actually made specifically for you. Well, in full disclosure, I made the dress for Angie Harmon, Michael's muse.. and to be honest, she really ROCKS IT, but seriously, it wouldn't look half bad on you. You should TOTALLY buy me." This dress is SO ME. I'm not being vain - I'm not saying it would look so good on me, I'm just saying, the colors, the shape and the detailing feel very Tracey. (que everyone I know: don't you mean totally tracey? I need to rename this blog. But I digress.)

So, I leave you with this... if you EVER see this dress for $300 or less, please let me know immediately. The MTV awards are an annual event and I can wear it next year...

the perfect bag

So, I totally love handbags. More specifically, designer handbags. It's an addiction I've had for about 5 years now and the end is not in sight. And after five full years of looking for the perfect bag, a few months ago I found it. Don't get me wrong, I still love, love, love my gucci. And both my louis vuittons will always hold a special place in my heart, but when the pearly gates of heaven open, I'm PRETTY sure this is what is waiting for everyone when they check in.

The Chloe Paddington Bag.

I adore it. I love it. I dream about it. I am totally 100% obsessed. I love the leather, the hardware, the classic look. I need to have it.

But here's the deal -- it's $1,540. That's a 7-day vacation. That's 3 pairs of Jimmy Choos. That's 7 pairs of joe's jeans. It's 1,540 slurpees. I want to buy it so badly, but I just can't do it.

Nick would immediately drive into the bay. (I know this because he tells me everytime I mention Chloe.) And I like him quite a bit so I wouldn't want that to happen.

And the worst part is, it will never go on sale. It's been out for awhile now and some stores STILL have a waiting list. So even if I'm patient, this little leather masterpiece will always be fifteen hundred dollars.

At dinner the other night with friends, it was pointed out that if I put aside $5 every day for a year, I'd have enough to buy it. It was also pointed out I could buy it NOW and then put aside $5 a day to pay the credit card. That's pretty much the same thing, right?

You're in the army now

So, after my freshmen year of college I was sitting in my parent's kitchen when my mother walked in carrying the mail. In it was a card promoting Army ROTC at my school and immediately I yelled, "hey dad, check this out!" He looked at the card and then at me and said, "you wouldn't last a week."

Well.

I don't do so well being told what I can and can't do. (I mean, I was voted most likely to be grounded in high school). It took about five minutes for me to sign up.

My sophomore year of college began two weeks earlier than the rest of my roommates since new army recruits had to report for training. (I know... it's hard even for ME to keep a straight face while writing this. ME? IN THE ARMY?) We were issued BDUs (battle dress uniforms) and boots and started crawling around in the dirt.

There are SO MANY anecdotes from this experience and I just don't have the time to go into them. So I will just share a few key things to help you better picture this time in my life:

- I was the only girl who wore makeup.
- I was the only girl who flirted with the boys.
- Shooting an M16 was terrifying, cool, and very, very real.
- I had to go away for a three-day training exercise with only my BDUs, my helmet, MREs (meals ready to eat), and some blush I smuggled in.

A couple months ago I bought a cute little 'message' T-shirt that has ARMY written across the front and I love it. While I was clearly NOT into wearing camouflage around campus for an entire semester (I'm still reeling), I'm secretly kinda proud I did it.

juicy

So like 5 or 6 years ago, everyone in hollywood discovered juicy couture. Or maybe they'd discovered it earlier, but that's when I started noticing the label being mentioned in every interview involving fashion. All the little poptarts were walking around in juicy velour tracksuits in the winter and in summer they were all about their strapless velour tube dresses. Last year, I finally brokedown and bought a tube dress. And then a track suit. And then another. And here's the deal folks, I REALLY like them.

Last weekend, nick and I went to this lake in northern california (it was ghetto and I'd tell you more about it except all you really need to know is a) the locals didn't have teeth and b) i didn't get engaged.) and while we were speeding around on the little boat we rented, my tube dress disappeared over the side. I didn't notice until we pulled up to the dock and I was DEVASTATED. In fact, I still am. I've since bid for 5 replacements on eBay and lost every auction. Apparently EVERYONE loves juicy tube dresses.

So i'm pouring a little virtual malt liquor out for my homey (the dress). LONG LIVE THE GREEN VELOUR.....

I'm off to shop. Here's a link for juicy if you care to peruse.

*FINAL NOTE: It is impossible for me to write about juicy and not mention my best good friend Meredith. I believe she too was introduced to the glory that is juicy couture late in life and has also become obsessed. She owns the juicy charm bracelet, with many, many charms (it's so cute I could die), juicy flip flops (with a little bow and charm) and is in the market to buy the most obnoxious juicy tracksuit she can find.

I'm a tanning whore

So every year around early May, i start planning my tan for the summer. I (sadly) would go to tanning salons, then tried the spray tan (until literally one of my friends pulled me aside and told me I looked a very odd, streaky-orange color), and recently I began using jergens tanner moisturizer (which the boyfriend loathes due to a weird odor that I now hear about on a daily basis).

And then it happened. I got my first airbrush tan. I was in LA for work and came upon Glitz, a salon in Beverly Hills. I have never looked so naturally and even tanned in my life! While it was slightly awkward standing in front of the girl applying it in just my thong, the week-long effects were totally worth it. It didn't smell, there were no streaks, and the compliments I got! It costs $80, which might sound steep, but I've never been so blissfully bronze in my life.

A sidenote: the two girls who own the shop (and do all the makeup applications, eyebrow shaping and airbrush tanning) were young and super fun. I am so impressed these two girls followed their dreams so passionately. One is 22! And she owns her own salon. Very cool.

That's jaime pressley. Thought I'd see what you thought about her tan... too orange? Or just right?
